Ricci first gained recognition as a child actor in her role as Wednesday Addams and Addams Family Values (both 1993) in The Addams Family and as Kat Harvey, in Casper. Ricci's move into adult roles began with The Ice Storm in 1997 which it was followed by her critically acclaimed role in The Opposite of Sex in 1998, for which Ricci was awarded the Golden Globe nod for Best Actress. She continued to be successful with her appearances in Sleepy Hollow (1998) and Monster (2003). Ricci played the lead role in Black Snake Moan, Penelope and Speed Racer. She also played alongside Liam Neeson opposite After.Life.
